The email my husband received from me simply said ‘We have to do this!’ followed by a forwarded email from Compassion UK. The email was an invitation for volunteers to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, to raise money for three Leadership Development Programme (LDP) students.

The Inca Trail is a notorious 28-mile classic expedition to the 15thCentury Inca site of Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and a Peruvian Historical Sanctuary. Situated 2,430m above sea level and surrounded by tropical mountain forest, Machu Picchu is a stunningly beautiful, iconic and unforgettable reward for all those setting out on the Inca Trail to reach it.
On 4 October 2013, you too can take on this notorious challenge and change lives by doing so.
