Blood, Sweat & Compassion: Kilimanjaro Challenge – Interview With LDP Students

Blood, Sweat & Compassion gives sponsors the opportunity to do something great for something even greater.

The sponsors in the most recent trips were invited to climb the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for eight Leadership Development Students to go through university and become leaders in their communities.

The January and March trips were unique. Not only were dozens of Compassion sponsors going to put their body on the line for these inspiring young students from Kenya, but the very LDP students they were fundraising for would be joining them all the way to the top!

The video below is a moving interview with four of the students, asking them about their lives, their hopes and the Leadership Development Programme.

I live in south London and am passionate about the Church. I love Compassion because it is so kingdom orientated and Christ-centred. Keep your eye out for my video blogs. I have one of when I climbed Mount KIlimanjaro in January 2012 to raise money for some Leadership Development Programme students. I also recorded a video blog of when I met my sponsored child, Wisdom in Kenya.

  1. What fantastic young people! A couple of things they said really hit me – ‘It’a all about encouraging one another. We are being empowered to become good servant leaders.’ ‘I’m glad that through LDP I have good mentors and I’m mentoring others.’

Amazing. Really amazing. It’s so moving to see how the LDP programme totally transforms lives.
